The Studio Museum’s permanent collection represents more than 800 artists, spans over 200 years of history, and includes nearly 9,000 works of art. A rotating thematic installation of works from the collection will explore the evolving artistic canon through the diverse interests, practices, and voices of artists of African descent. The exhibition will present a rich tapestry of Black artistic production and encourage a plurality of narratives through a display of iconic works alongside those newly acquired, rarely exhibited, and recently conserved.
